Preparing your order
Remember the 2010s? Austerity, Brexit and the ceaseless march of the Conservative Party, culminating in the fleeting glimmer of hope that things could ever be different being brutally extinguished forevermore. What a laugh.
As keen historians of the Noughteens, Liam Williams and I co-wrote, directed and edited a short, celebrating an entire decade spent living under Tory rule.
Starring: Steve Coogan, Josie Long, Lolly Adefope, Fern Brady, Yanis Varoufakis, Tez Ilyas, Oobah Butler, Ash Sarkar, Owen Jones and the Rhythm Method, with music from Brian Eno(!?)
Inopportunely released the day of the 2019 General Election, some have called this “the sketch single-handedly responsible for losing Britain’s future”.
I had fun making it, though.
last year, i got to make a bit of failed propaganda with momentum, featuring talking heads reflecting on a decade of tory rule – "remember the noughteens!" – to celebrate the anniversary of the last time we had hope, here's a compilation of my favourite steve coogan bits from it pic.twitter.com/NXaECRyxTF
